'I can't walk away' - trainer who pulled off rare Cheltenham and Aintree double U-turns on retirement
Trainer Joe O'Shea, 68, has reversed his retirement decision after achieving a rare double at the Cheltenham Festival and Aintree's Grand National meeting with hunter chaser Barton Snow. O'Shea had previously announced plans to retire at the end of last season due to heart issues, but the continued success of Barton Snow at Aintree and the promising debut victory of Boley Bob at Kelso in late April convinced him to continue. He is already planning for the 2026-27 season, focusing on both stable stars who have attracted multiple purchase offers.
