'I hope to inspire' - Monfils bows out of final French Open

French tennis player Gaël Monfils has exited what he confirmed is his final French Open, the Grand Slam tournament held on home soil. Monfils, who reached the semi-finals at Roland Garros in 2008 and achieved three further quarter-final appearances, spoke about his desire to inspire young Black children to take up tennis. The veteran player expressed hope that his career would serve as motivation for future generations.
