'I reduced my running because of urine leaks' โ Commonwealth finalist Korir
Kenyan middle-distance runner Naomi Korir, 28, was born with congenital fistula, a condition causing uncontrolled leakage of urine or faeces, which she lived with for 13 years and which significantly impacted her athletic career. Despite the condition leading her to reduce her running, Korir overcame the challenge and reached a career high in August when she finished fifth in the mile final at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Her story highlights the physical and psychological barriers she had to overcome to compete at an elite level.
