ICC delays plans for World Club Championship after ‘Big Three’ object
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has shelved plans for a World Club Championship and additional international multilateral tournaments until at least 2031, following opposition from England, Australia, and India — the sport's so-called 'Big Three.' A cricket operations workshop held in Dubai last week ended without any new events being proposed. As a result, the next Future Tours Programme (FTP), covering 2027 to 2031, will replicate the structure of the current cycle.
