Il Etait Temps rules supreme with Punchestown-Cheltenham double

Il Etait Temps completed a Champion Chase double by winning the William Hill Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival on Tuesday, having previously won the two-mile crown at the Cheltenham Festival. Ridden by Paul Townend for trainer Willie Mullins, the 8-11 favourite defeated Marine Nationale in emphatic fashion, claiming his eighth top-level victory. Marine Nationale, who had completed the same Cheltenham-Punchestown double 12 months ago, was unable to defend the title after an interrupted campaign.
