India becomes latest International Rugby League member nation
Rugby League India (RLIN) has been approved as the 57th national federation of International Rugby League and the third in Asia, following a 20-month application process voted on by IRL Full Member nations. RLIN joins as an Observer Member, with its nine founders being experienced rugby administrators representing south, central, and north-west regions of the country. RLIN Chairman Mohammad Iqbal stated the priority is to build domestic structures and pathways to establish India as a competitive rugby league nation.
