Infantino took undisclosed $1.7M World Cup payment

FIFA president Gianni Infantino received an undisclosed $1.72 million payment in 2024 from FWC2026, the U.S.-based entity managing the 2026 World Cup, in addition to his regular FIFA salary and benefits of approximately $4.86 million (4.274 million CHF). The payment was revealed through a U.S. IRS Form 990 filing and was not disclosed in FIFA's 2024 annual report. The lack of transparency surrounding the additional compensation represents a potential violation of FIFA statutes, specifically Article 43, paragraph 13.
