Ingebrigtsen sorry for calling 1500m rivals ‘losers’ but maintains Hocker ‘acted cowardly’

Double Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen has issued a partial apology for calling his rivals 'losers' and 'a bunch of cowards' following the men's 1500m Diamond League final on Friday. However, Ingebrigtsen maintained that Olympic 1500m champion Cole Hocker acted cowardly by requesting a strong pace and inserting his own pacemaker, only to then hide behind other runners during the race. Ingebrigtsen confirmed he and Hocker spoke after the race to address the dispute.
