International volleyball federation lifts Russia ban

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) reinstated Russian players and teams on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, one day after the IOC recommended that international sports federations lift remaining restrictions on Russian athletes. The FIVB stated the decision reflects its commitment to protecting athletes' fundamental right to access sport regardless of nationality, while also expressing continued concern over the war in Ukraine.
