Interview with British cycling legend Maurice Burton
Maurice Burton, the first black British cycling champion, began cycling at age 12 and quickly rose to prominence, winning his first Junior Sprint title in 1973 and the amateur scratch title in 1974. He went on to a professional career in Belgium and later became the owner of De Ver Cycles in Streatham. Burton has been visiting Lanzarote since the 1980s and has run cycling camps on the island for 20 years, recently speaking to Gazette Life in Costa Teguise.
