IOC won't investigate Infantino-Trump allegations

The International Olympic Committee has decided not to investigate allegations that FIFA president Gianni Infantino violated Olympic political neutrality rules in his dealings with U.S. President Donald Trump. The complaint, submitted by human rights group FairSquare earlier this month, included concerns about FIFA's decision to defer a World Cup suspension for U.S. striker Folarin Balogun after Trump personally asked Infantino to review the red card. The IOC ethics commission concluded it lacked jurisdiction because the complaint centred on FIFA decisions and governance, which fall under each federation's independent autonomy rather than its direct relations with the IOC.
