Islam Makhachev wonders why Carlos Prates and Michael Morales didn’t fight at UFC 330 to determine No. 1 contender

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, following his victory over Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330, has questioned why Carlos Prates and Michael Morales were not matched against each other at that event to determine the No. 1 contender for his title. Makhachev stated he is willing to fight whoever the UFC selects as his next opponent, provided the bout happens sooner rather than later. Both Prates and Morales are currently considered the leading candidates for a lightweight title shot.
