Israeli defence minister slams Yamal over flag

Barcelona teenage star Lamine Yamal waved a Palestinian flag during the club's La Liga title victory parade in Barcelona on Monday, which attracted around 750,000 spectators. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz condemned the 18-year-old's gesture on Thursday via X, stating it 'incites hate against Israel' amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas following the October 7, 2023 attacks. Yamal, who is Muslim, also shared images of himself holding the flag on his Instagram account.
