‘It doesn’t look good’: McIlroy gets two-shot penalty after improving his lie

Rory McIlroy received a two-shot penalty after his first round at the Abu Dhabi Championship on Thursday, after officials ruled he had improved his lie on the par-4 12th hole. The penalty turned his double-bogey six into an eight, leaving him with a two-under 70, eight shots off the lead. Francesco Laporta leads the tournament after a bogey-free round of 62.
