The win marked Gauff's fourth WTA 1000 semi-final appearance and her second WTA 1000 final of the 2026 season, extending her head-to-head record over Cîrstea to 4-0. Third seed Gauff will face either Iga Świątek or Elina Svitolina in Saturday's final.
