Jacques Villeneuve calls on Ferrari to favour Lewis Hamilton – but will it happen?

Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 F1 world champion, has called on Ferrari to make Lewis Hamilton their number-one driver for the 2026 title fight. Hamilton, who struggled early in the season, has surged to second in the standings after finishing second in Canada and Monaco and winning at Barcelona, cutting leader Kimi Antonelli's advantage from 49 to 41 points. Villeneuve, previously one of Hamilton's most vocal critics, now believes the seven-time world champion should be prioritised over Charles Leclerc.
