Opetaia became Zuffa's first major signing, with the promotion also adding fighters such as Shakur Stevenson, Richardson Hitchins, and Conor Benn. The legal action centers on the IBF stripping Opetaia of his belt, which Opetaia and Zuffa claim is part of a coordinated effort against the newly established promotion led by Dana White.
