Jamaica sets world record in mixed 4x100m relay to start off World Athletics Relays 2026
At the World Athletics Relays 2026 in Gaborone, Botswana on 2 May, Jamaica set a world record in the mixed 4x100m relay, with Ackeem Blake, Tina Clayton, Kadrian Goldson, and Tia Clayton clocking 39.99 seconds. This improved upon Canada's world record set earlier in the same day's first heat, while Germany, Netherlands, and Nigeria also surpassed the previous world best of 40.30 set by Canada at the 2025 World Relays in Guangzhou. The result also secured Jamaica's qualification spot for the 2027 World Athletics Championships.
