Jamie Carragher issues grovelling Aston Villa apology after club threaten legal action

Aston Villa announced on Friday they would be taking legal action against Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher after he made comments that club chairman Nassef Sawiris described as 'unacceptable insults' toward the club. Carragher subsequently issued a grovelling apology in response to the legal threat. The dispute represents a significant escalation between a top Premier League club and one of English football's most prominent television analysts.
