Jannik Sinner completes tennis feat not witnessed for almost 70 years after reaching the final in Rome
Jannik Sinner reached the Italian Open final in Rome on Saturday after defeating Daniil Medvedev 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 in a rain-delayed semi-final at the Foro Italico. The victory secured Sinner's place in a sixth consecutive Masters 1000 final and made him the first Italian to reach back-to-back Italian Open finals since Nicola Pietrangeli did so in 1957 and 1958. The four-time Grand Slam champion will face Casper Ruud in the final, holding a 4-0 career record against the Norwegian.
