Jannik Sinner ends hopes of fast-rising teenager Rafael Jodar at Madrid Open
World No 1 Jannik Sinner defeated 19-year-old Spanish teenager Rafael Jodar 6-2, 7-6 (0) in the Madrid Open quarter-finals on Wednesday, ending the youngster's impressive clay-court run. The win means Sinner has now reached the semi-finals at all nine Masters 1000 tournaments. Jodar had previously won his maiden ATP title in Marrakesh and reached the semi-finals in Barcelona before falling to Sinner at the Caja Mágica.
