World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic have both withdrawn from the National Bank Open, an ATP Masters 1000 tournament beginning August 1 in Montreal. Sinner, who recently won Wimbledon, cited health reasons for his withdrawal, while seven-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz is also absent as he recovers from a right wrist injury that caused him to miss the French Open and Wimbledon. As a result, French Open champion Alexander Zverev will serve as the tournament's top seed, with Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime seeded second — the highest-seeded Canadian in the event's history.
