Jannik Sinner: World number one ends season early with knee injury

World number one Jannik Sinner has ended his 2026 season early due to an ongoing right knee injury, confirming he will not compete again this year. The 25-year-old Italian, a five-time Grand Slam champion, has not played competitively since defending his Wimbledon title in July. Sinner announced the decision via Instagram on July 26, stating that he and his doctors agreed he needs a course of treatment, and that he needed to consider his long-term career.
