Japan's Nishikori to retire at end of 2026 season
Japanese tennis player Kei Nishikori, 36, has announced he will retire at the end of the 2026 season. The former world number four was the first Japanese player to break into the top 10 and the first to reach a Grand Slam singles final, appearing at the 2014 US Open where he defeated Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals before losing to Marin Cilic. Nishikori also won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
