Jeanie Buss contests vote to sell Lakers stake, calls family strategy ‘breach of trust’
Jeanie Buss's lawyers have declared void a reported vote by her siblings to sell the Buss family's remaining stake in the Los Angeles Lakers, calling the move a 'breach of trust, breach of fiduciary duty' that could put them in contempt of court. The dispute arises after Lakers co-owner Mark Walter agreed to sell the franchise to former Disney CEO Bob Iger and venture capitalist Josh Kushner at a reported valuation of $12.5 billion. The sale, if approved by the NBA's Board of Governors, would result in Jeanie Buss losing her position as team governor.
