Jeeno Thitikul shot a 69 on Friday at the Mizuho Americas Open in West Caldwell, N.J., capitalizing on calmer conditions after rain reduced the wind on the back nine, carding four birdies over her last seven holes to open a three-shot lead. Jennifer Kupcho also shot a 69 in the morning wave, needing a 15-foot par save on the 18th hole, which was playing more than one shot over par for early starters. Thitikul's strong finish gives her a commanding position heading into the next round of the LPGA Tour event.
