Jeffery Simmons Is First DT Since 1967 Traded For Two Firsts

The Chicago Bears traded for defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, giving up two first-round draft picks in a deal reported on October 30, 2026. This makes Simmons the first defensive tackle since 1967 to be traded for two first-round picks, breaking a 58-year NFL record. The trade has drawn criticism from some fans who consider it an overpay for the veteran defensive lineman.
