Jessie Vargas reps Las Vegas in Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame
Jessie Vargas, the 37-year-old former WBO welterweight champion known as 'The Pride of Las Vegas,' is being inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame at the annual induction dinner held at The Orleans Hotel and Casino, commemorating the classes of 2025 and 2026. Vargas, who boxed professionally for 14 years and fought 17 times in Nevada, said he was inspired to pursue boxing at age 8 after watching a documentary about Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez. The Las Vegas native described the enshrinement as 'a true honor in one of the biggest ways possible,' noting that his career and life are deeply connected to the city.
