Jimmy Anderson set to retire from cricket as Lancashire opt against renewing contract

Jimmy Anderson, England's legendary pace bowler, is expected to retire from cricket at age 44 after Lancashire decided not to renew his contract for the upcoming season. The club is undergoing a change of direction following a difficult 2024 campaign in which they finished second-bottom of Division Two in the County Championship and failed to progress from the group stages in both white-ball competitions. Anderson, who has had a remarkable career, may have already played his final professional match.
