Jing Yan takes 1-shot lead at Meijer LPGA Classic in Belmont

Jing Yan shot a bogey-free 6-under-par 66 on Friday to reach 10-under 134 through 36 holes at the Meijer LPGA Classic at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan, giving her a one-shot lead over England's Lottie Woad and Australia's Cassie Porter. First-round leader Yan Liu of China dropped to a tie for fourth after posting a 70. The 30-year-old Yan, who joined the LPGA Tour in 2015, is still seeking her first tour title and surged to the top by birdieing four of the course's five par-5s.
