Jonas Vingegaard obliterates Giro d’Italia rivals with stage 16 win in Swiss Alps

Jonas Vingegaard claimed victory on stage 16 of the Giro d'Italia with a solo attack on the climb to Carì in Switzerland, securing his fourth stage win of the race. The Dane, who had promised on the rest day to win a stage while wearing the pink jersey, extended his overall lead to more than four minutes. Ben O'Connor's rivals Isaac Gall and Jai Hindley finished second and third respectively on the 113km ride from Bellinzona.
