Jonas Vingegaard targets Grand Tour slam as Giro d’Italia begins in Bulgaria

Jonas Vingegaard, the two-time Tour de France champion (2022 and 2023), makes his Giro d'Italia debut as the race begins in Bulgaria on Friday. The Danish cyclist is targeting a Grand Tour grand slam and is the outstanding favourite to claim victory when the race concludes in Rome on 31 May. Vingegaard enters the race despite being overshadowed by Tadej Pogacar, who has won nine races across 11 days of racing this season.
