Jonathan Toews retires after 16 seasons in the NHL
Jonathan Toews, 38, announced his retirement on Friday after 16 NHL seasons, having played 1,149 regular-season games and 137 playoff games. He spent 15 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he won three Stanley Cup titles (2010, 2013, 2015), the Conn Smythe Trophy, and the Selke Award, while serving as the youngest captain in franchise history. Toews concluded his career with his hometown Winnipeg Jets and made the retirement announcement at the Jonathan Toews Sportsplex in Winnipeg.
