Jordan FA president accuses FIFA of 'blackmail'

Jordan Football Association president Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein has publicly accused FIFA of blackmail, claiming the organisation attempted to secure his support for Gianni Infantino's continued presidency by promising to help recover money owed to the JFA. Prince Ali, who previously ran against both Sepp Blatter in 2015 and Infantino in 2016 for the FIFA presidency, announced on X that the JFA would 'certainly' not endorse Infantino. He also raised concerns about difficulties for Jordanian fans obtaining US visas for the 2025 World Cup, exorbitant ticket prices, and heavy tax burdens faced by his association due to the tournament being hosted in the US rather than Canada or Mexico.
