Jordan Spieth opens with bogey-free 65, keeps BMW Championship hopes alive at FedEx St. Jude Championship
Jordan Spieth opened the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis with a bogey-free 65, keeping his hopes alive of advancing to the BMW Championship for the first time since 2023. The 33-year-old arrived at the tournament ranked No. 54 in the FedExCup standings, needing at least a solo 23rd-place finish to qualify for next week's event at Bellerive Country Club. Spieth, who has not won on the PGA Tour since the 2022 RBC Heritage and entered the playoffs without a single top-10 finish in the 2026 season, used the strong opening round to boost his chances of progressing.
