Josh Kerr takes Commonwealth gold in mile race

World record holder Josh Kerr won Commonwealth Games gold in the men's mile race at Scotstoun Stadium on Saturday, finishing in 3 minutes 54.12 seconds. The Scottish athlete, who had broken Hicham El Guerrouj's 27-year-old world record in London the previous month, outpaced fellow Scot Jake Wightman, who faded to fifth place. Australian Cameron Myers took silver and Kenya's Timothy Cheruiyot claimed bronze.
