João Félix strike for Portugal enough to sink Wales but Ronaldo fever falls flat

Portugal defeated Wales in a Nations League match thanks to a first-half strike from João Félix, who fired home from 20 yards after being set up by Nuno Mendes, with the shot deflecting in off Wales captain Ben Davies. Cristiano Ronaldo, who was substituted in the 67th minute, had a frustrating game, missing several chances including a close-range sitter and having a goal disallowed. Wales came close to an equaliser when Brennan Johnson hit the crossbar and Rúben Dias made a desperate late denial to keep out Lewis Koumas.
