João Gomes signs for Aston Villa from Wolves

Aston Villa have completed the permanent signing of Brazilian midfielder João Gomes from Wolves for a fee of €40 million (£34m). Gomes had been at Wolves since January 2023, making 35 appearances last season as the club was relegated from the Premier League. He will fill the midfield vacancy left by Youri Tielemans, who has departed to Manchester United.
