Judge will need another scan before major ramp up, is moved to 60-day IL; Schmidt faces batters

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge has been moved to the 60-day injured list on Saturday, July 18, 2026, as he continues to recover from a fractured rib that has kept him sidelined since May 31. A scan taken during the All-Star break, reviewed by Dr. Gregory J. Pearl at Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital in Texas, showed healing progress but determined Judge is still not cleared to begin any baseball activities. Manager Aaron Boone confirmed another scan will be required before any major ramp-up in activity can begin.
