Kane beats Mbappé, Yamal to win Ballon d'Or, England's 1st in 25 years
Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d'Or, becoming the first Englishman to claim the award in 25 years since Michael Owen in 2001. The 33-year-old Bayern Munich striker beat Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal to win the prize, after scoring 73 goals across the season for club and country, including leading England to the World Cup semifinals. The award ceremony was held on Monday at a gala in London, with Kane becoming only the fifth English player ever to receive the honor.
