Kane hopes 'best season' earns historic Ballon d'Or

Harry Kane, 33, has expressed pride in his record-breaking 2023-24 season in which he scored 73 goals for club and country, making him the bookmakers' favourite for the Ballon d'Or to be awarded in October. Only Lionel Messi's 82 goals in 2011-12 surpasses Kane's tally. If successful, Kane would become only the fifth English winner of the award and the first since Michael Owen claimed it in 2001.
