Kane prematurely announced as Ballon d'Or winner - but he wasn't only one

Harry Kane was prematurely announced as the Ballon d'Or winner after the award's organisers mistakenly published an article claiming he had won the prestigious prize on Monday. However, Kane was not the only player incorrectly named, suggesting a broader error by the organisers. The premature announcement raised and then dashed hopes for the England striker, who had not actually won the award.
