Kane wins Germany award after 61-goal season

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has been voted Germany's Player of the Year 2026 by the Association of German Sports Journalists (VDS), receiving 272 of 659 votes, ahead of teammate Michael Olise (203). Kane scored 61 goals across all competitions last season, helping Bayern defend the Bundesliga title and win the German Cup, including a hat-trick in the cup final. Manager Vincent Kompany also won the coach of the year award, receiving nearly half of all votes cast.
