Kartal denied biggest win of career after Chwalinska fightback in Wuhan Open final

Sonay Kartal lost the Wuhan Open final to Maja Chwalinska 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, missing out on the biggest title of her career. Chwalinska, a French Open finalist, claimed her first WTA title with the comeback victory. Despite the defeat, Kartal will become the new British No 1 following her record run at the tournament, which came just two weeks after she returned from six months out with a back injury.
