Katie Archibald announces her retirement from track cycling
Scottish cyclist Katie Archibald, 32, has announced her retirement from international track cycling after 13 years competing at the highest level. A double Olympic champion, she won team pursuit gold at Rio 2016 and the first-ever women's Madison title at Tokyo 2020, accumulating seven world titles, 21 European titles, and a total of 51 international medals. Archibald missed the Paris 2024 Olympics due to injury but continued with the British Cycling squad before making this retirement announcement.
