Keely Hodgkinson beaten into second by Odira in Eugene

Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson was beaten for the second consecutive Diamond League race, finishing second behind Kenya's Lilian Odira in Eugene. Odira, the reigning world champion over the distance, surged past Hodgkinson in the home straight to win in a season's best time of 1:56.19, while Hodgkinson crossed the line in 1:56.73. The result follows a similar defeat in Stockholm in June, where Audrey Werro also beat Hodgkinson.
