Keely Hodgkinson: Olympic champion targets 800m outdoor world record at London Diamond League

Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson has not ruled out breaking Jarmila Kratochvilova's 43-year-old outdoor 800m world record of 1:53.28 at the London Diamond League meeting in July. Hodgkinson, who set a new indoor 800m world record of 1:54.87 in Lievin in February, expressed particular excitement about competing on home soil in London. She noted that any attempt on the record would be a collective decision made with her coaches Trevor Painter and Jenny Meadows, and would require ideal conditions.
