Keely Hodgkinson: Olympic gold medalist pulls out of UK Athletics Championships 400m final with injury

Keely Hodgkinson, the 24-year-old Olympic 800m champion, withdrew from the 400m final at the UK Athletics Championships as a precautionary measure after qualifying from the heats on Saturday. She had been competing in the 400m to improve her first-lap speed ahead of an attempt on the 800m world record later this summer. Hodgkinson had previously broken the indoor 800m world record with a time of 1:54.87 in France earlier this year, and the London Diamond League meeting is approximately four weeks away.
