Keely Hodgkinson pips Femke Broeders-Bol in thrilling women’s 800m at London Diamond League 2026

Keely Hodgkinson, the reigning Paris 2024 Olympic 800m champion, won the women's 800m at the 2026 London Diamond League on 18 July, clocking 1:56.21 to edge out Dutch star Femke Broeders-Bol (1:56.45), with Ethiopia's Tsige Duguma third in 1:56.92. The winning time was two seconds off Audrey Werro's 2026 world lead of 1:53.80. Hodgkinson said winning on home soil was 'quite important' and expressed her focus on the upcoming European Athletics Championships, set to begin 10 August in Birmingham.
