Kejelcha breaks men's half marathon world record by 29 seconds

Ethiopia's Yomif Kejelcha set a new men's half marathon world record at a World Athletics road race in Buenos Aires, finishing in 56 minutes 51 seconds. The 29-year-old had previously held the record with a time of 57:30 set in Valencia in October 2024, but had lost it to Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo, who ran 57:20 in Lisbon in March. Kejelcha's new mark improves the world record by 29 seconds.
